Interstate Park Sports Complex

Interstate Park Sports Complex opened in April of 1980 and since that time has served more than one million people who were either playing softball, kickball, football or watching a loved one take part in one of these activities. The park consists of six softball fields, two football fields and two outdoor basketball courts. All of the fields are lighted, with electronic scoreboards.

Between 2011 and 2014 the park underwent renovations valued at more than $500,000. These improvements include completely renovated concession stands and restroom facilities, new roofs on the three buildings, electrical repairs for the pavilion, new picnic tables, renovated stairway on the south complex building, new lighting and ceiling fans inside both concession buildings, a new entrance sign for the park, maintenance on the creeks and canals running through the entrance to the park and the middle of the park, repairs to the sprinkler systems on the softball complex and the football complex, repairs to lighting in the parking lot areas, repairs to all fencing and installation of new fencing at the football complex, new directional signage within the park, improvements to the dirt infields at the softball complex,  as well as paint on the buildings and dugouts and additional landscaping on the grounds.

The Interstate Park Sports Complex is home to the Little Rock Parks & Recreation Adult Softball league, which is affiliated with USSSA and supports nearly 50 teams each year. The park also serves as the home facility for the youth athletics division of Little Rock Parks & Recreation, in particular football, softball and tee-ball. The complex also hosts softball tournaments on the weekends, a kickball league and a number of other special events. The annual Martin Luther King Day parade stages and begins at the complex. The park is also popular with local law enforcement K-9 officers who work with their dogs in the open fields.

The Little Rock School District and the Pulaski County Special School District use the complex for varsity and junior varsity softball games through a mutual-use agreement with the city.

The softball fields and football fields are available for rental between February 1 and October 31 each year. The Ballfield Reservations office is located in the south softball complex at Interstate Park. The office is also responsible for ballfield rentals at all other ballfields that are a part of Little Rock Parks & Recreation
