At 8:54 pm, on Wednesday, January 7, 2026, patrol officers with the 12th Street Division responded to a ShotSpotter activation at 1300 South Woodrow Street. Officers arrived and discovered 21-year-old Rashon Fields suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. MEMS responded and transported Fields to a local hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.
Simultaneously, officers secured the area and notified Homicide Detectives and the Crime Scene Search Unit. Later, the Pulaski County Coroner transported the deceased body to the Arkansas State Crime Lab for an autopsy and next of kin was notified. A preliminary investigation began as detectives canvassed the area for witnesses and video surveillance. This investigation is ongoing and occurred in the 12th Street Division.

#Update: Keyona Griffin, 19, of Little Rock, was taken into custody on January 9, 2026, and charged with Capital Murder.
