Patrol Officers with the 12th Street Division responded to 4424 West 27th Street for a ShotSpotter Activation just before 11 p.m. on December 8, 2023. Officers arrived and made contact with several individuals standing over a black male subject, suffering from apparent gunshot wounds, face down on the sidewalk. RESCUE responded and rendered medical aid to the victim. MEMS later responded and transported the victim, later identified as 34-year-old Brad Curry, to a local hospital where he later succumbed to his injuries the next morning. The Crime Scene Search Unit responded to process the scene and a preliminary investigation began as detectives canvassed the area and continued to speak with witnesses and search for video surveillance. The Pulaski County Coroner transported the deceased body to the Arkansas State Crime Lab for an autopsy and next of kin was notified. This investigation is ongoing and occurred in the 12th Street Division.
