6201 Colonel Glenn Road Homicide)

At 9:11 p.m., on Saturday February 17, 2024, Southwest Patrol Officers responded to 6201 Colonel Glenn Road in reference to a shooting in progress at the Circle K Convenience Store. Officers arrived on scene and spoke with one individual who was involved in the shooting, 45-year-old Courtney Blackwell. Officers were also able to locate two individuals who were suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. MEMS responded and transported both victims, 38-year-old Lamarcus Thomas and 43-year-old Roy Jenkins, to area hospitals for treatment. Jenkins would succumb to his injuries at the hospital. Officers secured the area and notified Homicide Detectives. Later, the Pulaski County Coroner responded and transported the deceased victim to the State Crime Lab for an autopsy and next of kin was notified.

The Crime Scene Search Unit responded shortly after Homicide Detectives. A preliminary investigation began as detectives canvassed the area for witnesses and video surveillance.  Blackwell was transported to the Major Crimes Division and after further investigation, he was charged with Second Degree Murder. This investigation is ongoing and occurred in the Southwest Division.
