Southwest Patrol Officers responded to 6510 Mabelvale Cutoff on Wednesday, October 25, 2023, for a shooting call for service at 8:00 p.m. Upon arrival, officers discovered 21-year-old Marquis Harper deceased from gunshot wounds. Officers secured the area and notified Homicide Detectives. Later, the Pulaski County Coroner responded to the scene and transported the deceased body to the State Crime Lab for an autopsy and next of kin was notified.

The Crime Scene Search Unit responded shortly after Homicide Detectives. A preliminary investigation began as detectives canvassed the area for witnesses and video surveillance. This investigation is ongoing and occurred in the Southwest Division.
