At 2:33 a.m., on Saturday, June 14, 2025, Southwest Patrol Officers responded to a shooting at the referenced address. Upon arrival, officers discovered 22-year-old Leon Gomez suffering from an apparent gunshot wound to the head. MEMS and RESCUE responded and rendered aid; however, Mr. Gomez died at the scene. Officers secured the scene and notified Homicide Detectives. Later, the Pulaski County Coroner transported the deceased body to the Arkansas State Crime Lab for an autopsy and next of kin was notified.

Homicide Detectives and the Crime Scene Search Unit responded and began a preliminary investigation. Detectives canvassed the area and spoke with witnesses. One of the witnesses, 26-year-old Anderson Fuentes, along with several others were transported to the Major Crimes Division and questioned. Mr. Fuentes provided a statement and was released without charges pending a file review by the Pulaski County Prosecuting Attorney. This investigation is ongoing and occurred in the Southwest Division.
