At 2:54 pm, on Wednesday, August 20, 2025, patrol officers with the 12th Street Division responded to a disturbance call at 700 East 17th Street. Officers arrived and discovered 35-year-old Michelle Butler unresponsive, with no signs of life, from multiple injuries including an apparent gunshot wound. Homicide Detectives were notified and responded. Later, the Pulaski County Coroner transported the deceased body to the Arkansas State Crime Lab for an autopsy and next of kin was later notified.
The Crime Scene Search Unit responded shortly after Homicide Detectives to process the scene. A preliminary investigation began as detectives canvassed the area for witnesses and video surveillance. A suspect vehicle description was broadcasted and southwest patrol officers identified it at 8000 Geyer Springs Road. The driver of the vehicle, 29-year-old Duane Nooner, was ultimately taken into custody and transported to the Major Crimes Division for further investigation. Simultaneously, the vehicle was towed to the crime scene bay awaiting a search warrant for processing. After further investigation, Mr. Nooner was charged with Capital Murder and transported to the Pulaski County Regional Jail. This investigation is ongoing and occurred in the 12th Street Division.
