At 9:42 pm, on Sunday, May 11, 2025, patrol officers with the Southwest Division responded to a shooting at 9101 Auxor Road. Officers arrived and discovered 39-year-old Lee Battles, of Benton, suffering from apparent gunshot wounds across the street at 9102 Auxor Road. MEMS responded and transported the victim to a local hospital where he succumbed to his injuries. Simultaneously, officers secured the area and notified Homicide Detectives. Later, the Pulaski County Coroner transported the deceased body to the Arkansas State Crime Lab for an autopsy and next of kin was notified.

The Crime Scene Search Unit responded shortly after Homicide Detectives. A preliminary investigation began as detectives canvassed the area for witnesses and video surveillance. This investigation is ongoing and occurred in the Southwest Division.
