In preparation for the 2019 City of Little Rock Career Fair to be held Saturday, City staff, Goodwill Industries and Arkansas Workforce Centers will host a Career Empowerment Seminar Thursday (Feb. 21) from 6 to 8 p.m.

During the seminar, attendees can learn tips and techniques to succeed when applying for a job. Mock interviews with area professionals will follow the information sessions that include:

  • How to dress for an interview
  • Interview skills
  • Resume overview

“In addition to providing job opportunities during our annual career fair, we wanted to provide tools for success,” said Dana Dossett, Community Programs Department Director. “This will be the first year for the Career Empowerment Seminar, but we hope to see it grow to include more services in the future.”

Also during the seminar, participants will be able to sign up for customer service or hospitality training programs that provide registrants with certifications upon completion.

Both the Career Fair and Career Empowerment Seminar will be held at West Central Community Center, 8616 Col. Glenn Road. The Career Fair will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday (Feb. 23).
