Evins Homicide)

Northwest Division Patrol Officers responded to a shooting at 9600 West 36th Street at 11:02 p.m., on Monday, May 29, 2023. When they arrived, they located 30-year-old Dantas Evins suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. MEMS responded and transported both individuals to local hospitals for medical attention; however, Evins succumbed to injuries. The scene was secured, and Homicide Detectives responded. Later, the Pulaski County Coroner transported the body of Mr. Evins to the Arkansas State Crime Lab for an autopsy.

The Crime Scene Search Unit responded shortly after Homicide Detectives. A preliminary investigation began as detectives canvassed the area for witnesses and video surveillance. During the investigation, 32-year-old Antonio Holden was developed as a suspect in this incident. He was located and subsequently taken into custody on unrelated charges. He was taken to the Major Crimes Division for further investigation and released without charges in relation to this incident pending a file review. The next of kin was notified. This investigation is ongoing and occurred in the Northwest Division.
