After responding to a disturbance with a weapon call at 9:42p.m., on July 4, 2025, Northwest Patrol Officers discovered 62-year-old Frederick Williams unresponsive in the street and suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. MEMS responded and confirmed Williams died at the scene. The area was secured and LRPD Homicide Detectives were notified and responded. Subsequently, officers were able to detain 40-year-old Al-Malik Diamond and 46-year-old Anna Rodgers at the scene. Both were transported to the Major Crimes Division and interviewed. Later, the Pulaski County Coroner transported the deceased body to the Arkansas State Crime Lab for an autopsy and the next of kin was notified.

The Crime Scene Search Unit arrived shortly after Homicide Detectives and began a preliminary investigation. Detectives canvassed the area, looked for surveillance video, and spoke with other witnesses. This investigation is ongoing and occurred in the Northwest Division.
