The City of Little Rock Department of Housing and Neighborhood Programs will host the American Association of Code Enforcement Arkansas Region conference starting Wednesday.

During the regional conference, code enforcement professionals representing 45 Arkansas municipalities will hear from Arkansas Attorney General Leslie Rutledge and State District Judge Mark D. Leverett among others.

Other topics to be discussed include:

  • How to use training as a way to elevate the profession within the communities served and to develop consistency in code enforcement actions throughout the state.
  • Improving communication between cities’ code enforcement offices.
  • Improving support options for smaller municipalities limited by budget constraints.

“We are proud to host our fellow code enforcement professionals from around the state as we move toward solidifying an Arkansas chapter of the American Association of Code Enforcement,” said Victor Turner, Little Rock’s Director of Housing and Neighborhood Programs. “We look forward to learning best practices and sharing resources with our neighbors as we work to improve the quality of life for the communities we serve.”
