Officer-Involved Shooting on Timber Hill Drive)

On Monday, June 23, 2025, at 5:14 p.m., officers with the Northwest Division responded to a shots fired call for service at the above location. Upon arrival, an individual, later identified as 44-year-old Andrew Osborne, was standing on the front porch of the residence with a firearm in hand. Officers gave multiple commands for him to drop the firearm, but he refused. Officers then made several attempts to de-escalate the situation; however, Osborne continued yelling at them. Osborne then tossed his weapon on the ground but quickly retrieved it. At this time, officers continued giving Osborne commands to release his firearm in which he refused. Osborne would then point his firearm in the direction of Officer Cameron Woeppel. In response to the perceived threat, Officer Woeppel discharged his weapon, critically injuring Osborne. MEMS responded and transported him to a local hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.

This is an ongoing investigation and since this incident involved an officer discharging a service weapon, an internal investigation has begun. A separate criminal investigation is also underway. Officer Woeppel has been placed on administrative leave.
