LITTLE ROCK (July 26, 2017) – The City of Little Rock is proud to announce that citizens have an easy way to get information about what is happening around them. Our new Citizen Connect site (https:/citizenconnect.littlerock.gov) links 3-1-1 requests with public safety information and allows users to explore, analyze and sign up for alerts based on the data they find most important.

Citizen Connect allows users to filter by place, date range, and type of data, customizing the display to best meet the user’s needs. The map is fully interactive and mobile responsive so viewing is easy on a variety of devices.

“This is another step forward in our effort to provide more meaningful information to our community through our open data initiative,” said Melissa Bridges, Performance and Innovation Coordinator for the City. “Our partners at Socrata have given us a better platform to engage our residents.”

Residents can create a free account, that allows them to save searches and opt in to receive daily, weekly or monthly email updates about new incidents or activity in their saved search area.

City Manager Bruce T. Moore said one of the most important resources the City can provide its residents is information.

“With our Citizen Connect site, we are taking the next step by using our open data, technology and innovation to help Little Rock residents understand what is going on in their own neighborhoods,” Moore said. “This also gives residents insight into the information we use to make decisions and another opportunity to work with us to create a better quality of life for our entire community.”
