Starting Monday, the playground at Reservoir Park will be closed for eight weeks while crews build a new playground, City of Little Rock Parks and Recreation Department announced Wednesday.

Reservoir Park is one of four Little Rock parks that will see new playgrounds this year now that the City of Little Rock Parks and Recreation Department has been awarded a $250,000 grant from the Arkansas Department of Parks and Tourism.

Part of the State’s Outdoor Recreation Grant program, the award is for new playgrounds at Reservoir, Ottenheimer, Kanis and Hanger Hill parks, including the addition of Americans with Disabilities Act compliant items.

The total grant award is for $250,000.00 with the City required to provide a match of $250,000.00 for a total project budget of $500,000.00.
