LITTLE ROCK – Ahead of the Independence Day holiday, the City of Little Rock is activating a temporary email address for residents to report fireworks complaints. Personal use of fireworks is illegal within Little Rock city limits. Violators may receive citations or have fireworks confiscated by police.

Fireworks complaints increase significantly around the Fourth of July. Because of the high volume, the City requests that complaints be emailed to LRPDFireworksViolations@LittleRock.gov. This temporary email address will be monitored throughout the holiday weekend. Every email is reviewed by Little Rock Emergency Communications personnel and assigned to a Little Rock police officer.

Residents who submit complaints by email will receive an automated acknowledgement, but they should not expect to be directly contacted by an officer. Police respond to fireworks violations in addition to their normal responsibilities, so residents are asked to be patient and to recognize some emergencies may take precedence.

The City of Little Rock uses a temporary email address for reports of fireworks in order to more efficiently and effectively respond to complaints and to emergency requests during the holiday. Residents are reminded to call 911 during emergencies, for fireworks-related injuries or property damage and to report suspected gunfire.

Non-emergency police reports can be made to (501) 371-4829.

Fireworks can cause serious injury or property damage. According to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, nearly 15,000 Americans were injured by fireworks in 2024 and 11 people died. Residents are encouraged to celebrate the holiday safely by watching professional, licensed displays.

The loud noises from fireworks can also cause stress, fear and anxiety for others and for pets. Residents are asked to be good neighbors and refrain from using fireworks.

As a reminder, City of Little Rock offices will be closed on Friday, July 4, in observance of Independence Day. Residential sanitation and recycling pickup scheduled for Friday will be delayed by one day because of the holiday.
