The Little Rock Zoo has completed construction on a new sensory garden thanks to a grant funded by the Blue and You Foundation for a Healthier Arkansas for $144,000. The grant funded the construction of a garden and play area that elicits the senses and encourages children to play outdoors.

The new area is located in between the Arkansas Heritage Farm and the flamingo habitat where the old Kiwanis playground was constructed. The garden is accessible for children and adults with disabilities and includes tactile play, fragrant plants, sound structures and other structures that illicit creativity and activity.
