Heat Wave Expected to Hit City Next

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (July 18, 2016) – Most of Little Rock’s streets were clear of storm debris as of Sunday afternoon, with around 10 locations still blocked off because of downed utility lines and trees.

Cleanup is expected to go into the coming week as Street Operations crews continue to pick up debris from the severe weather that hit Arkansas on Thursday.

Locations where wires were still in the roadway include: 2nd and Chester streets, 1010 Scott St., 17th and Spring, and 17th and Izard. Rebsamen Park Road at Sherrill Road is blocked because of a tree that fell the weekend. Location where power lines are down require proper wire removal by Entergy.

Residents can place storm debris from their yards at the curb for pickup in the coming days. The yard waste rule regarding limb sizes will be temporarily relaxed for storm debris.

Residents are advised to call 311, the non-emergency request line, to report a downed tree, power lines or storm debris blocking roads. Residents also can use the 311 app or the 311 website (https://littlerock-csrprodcwi.motorolasolutions.com/Home.mvc/Index) to enter requests, or call dispatch at (501) 371-4829.
