LITTLE ROCK (May 3, 2016) – L. Lamor Williams has joined the Little Rock Zoo senior management staff as director of marketing and communications.

Williams will be responsible for managing public relations outreach and will serve as the primary contact for media. Developing communication and social media content strategies for a variety of zoo initiatives will also be among his duties.

A Pine Bluff native and downtown Little Rock resident, Williams holds a Bachelor of Business Administration from Philander Smith College where he graduated with honors.

Zoo Assistant Director Susan Altrui says that she and Director Mike Blakely are excited to have Lamor join the zoo family.

“The Zoo is excited to have a senior staff person dedicated to providing information to the public about the zoo and its conservation programs. Lamor will market special events, education programs, what’s new at the zoo and help with branding,” said Altrui.

Williams echoed the same sentiment.

“I’ve been to the zoo many times as a child and adult. As I have grown, the zoo has grown,” Williams said. “I look forward to being a part of its future and the great things to come.”

Williams joins the Little Rock Zoo staff after working for three years as a public relations account executive at Mangan Holcomb Partners. Before gaining public relations and marketing experience at the agency, he spent nearly 20 years practicing journalism for such publications as the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette, Fort Worth Star-Telegram and Pine Bluff Commercial.

An active member in the Arkansas chapter of the Public Relations Society of America, Williams has won several of the group’s Prism Awards for writing and strategy.
