Due to persistent inclement weather conditions, City of Little Rock facilities will remain closed Friday, Feb. 4.

The City will again make Dunbar Community Center available for use as an overnight emergency shelter operated by nonprofit The Van (The One, Inc.). It will open at 7 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 3, and continue through 7 a.m. Friday, Feb. 4. If severe weather continues, the shelter will again open 7 p.m. Friday to 7 a.m.  Saturday.

Public Works has been working on designated snow routes since Wednesday night and will continue to treat these primary routes through the overnight hours. As the clearing of the primary routes are completed, crews will begin to move to secondary streets in neighborhoods during the day tomorrow. The City appreciates the patience expressed by residents as crews work around the clock to return streets to normal.

Solid waste collection will not run Friday. Conditions permitting, Thursday and Friday routes will be collected Saturday. Any routes not collected over the weekend will be made up on Monday.

Animal Services continues to remind residents to care for their pets while temperatures remain below freezing. Bring outside animals indoors if possible or provide shelter for them outdoors if not. Ensure that water is changed frequently so that it does not freeze.
