History

Fletcher Park occupies 1.6 acres of sloping land adjacent to the Wilbur Mills Freeway in central Little Rock. It was developed in 1970 on land purchased by the City of Little Rock in 1963. The park was named as a memorial to Alan B. Fletcher. Fundraising to develop the park was initiated by friends and family of young Fletcher, a promising athlete who won several awards in the Peewee League and in other city-sponsored athletic events.
