Summer Playground Program
Little Rock Parks and Recreation welcomes children and parents within the Little Rock area as prospective participants in our 2021 Summer Playground Program. This program will operate from June 7 – July 22, 2021. The program will be closed on July 5, 2021 in observance of Independence Day.
The objective of the program is to provide children ages 6-15, a rewarding enjoyable, and safe summer that will be supervised, organized, and offer worthwhile recreational activities while school is not in session. We will also be offering a Teen Camp for participants between 11-15 years of age. We will offer a wide range of on-site activities and enjoyable field trip activities.

Activities & Field Trips
The Summer Playground Program on-site activities will include: checkers, dominoes, chess, card games, jump rope, basketball, kickball, movies, arts and crafts, as well as time outside on the playground and many more activities. Field trips will include swimming, roller skating, movies, visits to MacArthur Museum of Military History, The Clinton Presidential Library and The Mosaic Templar Library. Participation in off-site activities are optional. There will be staff members assigned to remain at the playground sites for participants who chose not to participate in the field trip activities. There are some field trips that we expect a large amount of participation and may prevent us from transporting every child. The supervisors at each location are asked to keep a record of which to ensure that all of the children have equal opportunities to participate. Buses from First Student Company will provide transportation for field trips. All other transportation is prohibited. There is additional admission and busing fees for field trips. A schedule of all trips and associated fees will be distributed to parents upon registration.
Online registration will begin May 1, 2021 and will continue until all slots are filled. Cost: $100.00 per child
