Arkansas River Trail
The Arkansas River Trail (ART) is a system of trails that runs along the Arkansas River in Little Rock, Arkansas. The trail is multi-use, meaning that it is open to hikers, bikers, and runners. The trail is also accessible to people with disabilities, making it a great option for all types of outdoor enthusiasts.
The purple route takes cyclists along the northern side of the Arkansas River Trail. This route takes one through seven different parks and is almost entirely on a dedicated, paved, bike and pedestrian trail. It features several restroom and water stops, scenic overlooks, mountain bike trailheads, and even a WWII-era submarine! We recommend this route to riders of all ages and abilities.
The blue route on the Little Rock side in front of the Dillard’s Department Store Headquarters on Highway 10 is hard to follow, not as scenic, and placed on a sidewalk. This section, between Rebsamen Park and the Barring Cross Train Bridge, should only be used by people who are confident riding in automotive traffic.
