Meet the Director of Public Works
Maneesh Krishnan joined the City of Little Rock in May 2023 as an Assistant Director within the Public Works Department, bringing nearly two decades of experience in civil engineering and municipal infrastructure management. He served as Interim Director from May 2025, until his permanent appointment by Mayor Frank Scott Jr. in August 2025. His leadership focuses on efficient service delivery, staff development, and maintaining a strong commitment to public safety and sustainability.
Krishnan’s connection to the City of Little Rock began in 2006, when he served as a civil engineering intern in the same department that he now leads.
Before returning to city service, he spent more than 15 years with McClelland Consulting Engineers, where he managed a variety of civil and municipal infrastructure projects across Arkansas.
Krishnan has served as a Region Governor and President of the Arkansas Chapter of American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE). He serves as Advocacy Captain for ASCE and represents them at legislative fly-ins every year in Washington DC, where ASCE members meet with their Members of Congress to advance the Society’s collective policy priorities. He is also an appointed member of the Junction Bridge Facilities Maintenance Board for Pulaski County.
He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from Osmania University in India and a Master’s degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Arkansas, Fayetteville. Krishnan and his wife, Ramya, reside in Little Rock with their two daughters.
