Twelfth Street Patrol Officers responded the intersection of 15th and Commerce Street to check the condition of a subject just before 3:30 a.m., on Monday, April 28, 2025. Officers arrived and discovered an unknown black male suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. MEMS responded and attempted life-saving measures; however, the unknown individual succumbed to his injuries at the scene. Homicide Detectives were notified and responded. Later, the Pulaski County Coroner transported the deceased body to the Arkansas State Crime Lab for an autopsy and positive identification. Next of kin will be notified pending the outcome of the autopsy.

The Crime Scene Search Unit responded shortly after Homicide Detectives. A preliminary investigation began as detectives canvassed the area for witnesses and video surveillance. This investigation is ongoing and occurred in the 12th Street Division.
