Children and families in Southwest Little Rock have a new community clinic close to home where they can have their medical needs met thanks to Arkansas Children's Hospital.
On July 25, Arkansas Children's Hospital opened the $4,000,000 facility after breaking ground about 9 months ago.
ACH and the city of Little Rock joined forces on the project with the city leasing to ACH the land for $99 or $1 per year for 99 years. Mayor Mark Stodola, City Manager Bruce T. Moore, many other city leaders, officials and groups attended the ribbon cutting ceremony.
With many Hispanic residents in Southwest Little Rock, most of the staff at the new facility is bilingual. The clinic is equipped with 15 exam rooms complete with x-ray, labs and immunization.
The Arkansas Foodbank, Arkansas Hunger Relief Alliance, Little Rock School District, and others also partnered on the project.
The clinic services children of all ages and adults 21 or younger. It takes same day appointments and is open Monday through Friday 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
