What made you interested in participating in the Friendly Driver Program?

"When I moved to the city, I did not own my own car. I learned how to get to work by bicycle, bus, and even on foot. Even though I regularly use a car, I now feel empowered to have multiple modes of transportation around a city that I love. While I myself feel comfortable cycling and walking around Little Rock, I am concerned that many in our city do not feel safe enough to do the same. I would love to live in a city where the elementary age students I tutor had the option to walk or bike to school and men and women, young and old alike enjoyed utilizing our streets regardless of the type of transportation that is available to them. I am interested in promoting the Friendly Driver Program because it empowers people with life skills that will make our streets a safer and more enjoyable place and takes us all one step closer to the type of community we all want to live in."
