Patrol Officers with the Northwest Division responded to a shots fired call for service at 1806 Wilson Road on Monday, September 4, 2023. When officers arrived, they located 25-year-old Alex Nichols deceased from apparent gunshot wounds. Homicide Detectives were notified and responded. Later, the Pulaski County Coroner responded to the scene and transported the body to the Arkansas State Crime Lab for an autopsy and next of kin was notified.

The Crime Scene Search Unit responded shortly after Homicide Detectives. A preliminary investigation began as detectives canvassed the area for witnesses and video surveillance. This investigation is ongoing and occurred in the Northwest Division.
