Patrol Officers with the Northwest Division responded to 7101 West 12th Street in reference to a shooting call for service at 7:29 p.m., on Saturday November 18, 2023. When officers arrived, they discovered 17-year-old Marcus Marbley deceased from an apparent gunshot wound. Officers also located the crime scene on the fourth floor of the office building and secured the area as well as notified Homicide Detectives. Later, the Pulaski County Coroner responded and transported the body to the State Crime Lab for an autopsy and next of kin was notified.

The Crime Scene Search Unit responded shortly after Homicide Detectives. A preliminary investigation began as detectives canvassed the area for witnesses and video surveillance. Officers were later notified a juvenile, Juwan Mayes, and Edward Anderson had been transported to local hospitals by private cars. This investigation is ongoing and occurred in the Northwest Division.

#Update: Dillain Cheeter was taken into custody on February 16, 2024, and charged with Manslaughter, Aggravated Robbery, and First Degree Battery in connection to this homicide.
