12^th Street patrol officers responded to a single vehicle collision in the area of 4500 South Arch St. When they arrived, they found a white Buick had struck a concrete I-30 overpass support. The driver, Mr. Alvin Hampton was pinned in the driver seat and had to be extricated from the vehicle. MEMS responded and transported Mr. Hampton to UAMS Hospital where he later succumbed to injuries. No other vehicles were involved in the collision.

Accident Reconstruction Officers were called and responded to process the scene and take photographs, collect evidence, and take measurements. Next of kin was notified and the Pulaski County Coroner’s Office responded to the hospital and took blood samples from Mr. Hampton which will be submitted to the Arkansas State Crime Lab for toxicology analysis. The collision is pending further investigation
