Little Rock Fire Department Helps in Shoes for Clean Water Drive)

WHAT:           Kickoff event for the 5th used shoes for clean water drive, a month-long initiative to help Ozark Water Projects provide clean and safe drinking water to citizens of Haiti

LITTLE ROCK, Ark.  –  Little Rock firefighters are collecting shoes for a month as part of an initiative that helps provide safe and clean drinking water to citizens in other countries.

Ozark Water Projects partners with the Little Rock Fire Department, which will have donation boxes at every station from March 22 – April 22. Gently used shoes of any type or style, from dress shoes to flip-flops, will be accepted. Only matching pairs can be taken.

Shoes collected during the drive will be exported and sold, with the proceeds going to drill new wells, repair existing ones, and install water purification systems.
