Hiland also provides in-kind product for the Zoo’s Café Africa as well as in-kind product for Zoo special events and programs. The family based company has provided more than half-a-million in support for the Little Rock Zoo over the years.

"We really value our partnership with the Zoo,” said Hiland Dairy’s CEO Mike Flagg. “It's just such a fun and positive experience for families."

The Zoo also announced that it will be hosting a 50th birthday celebration for Sophie the elephant this Saturday from 1 to 2 p.m., at the Little Rock Zoo’s elephant yard. Guests will be invited to hide treats for the elephants to enjoy in celebration of Sophie! Guests will then be invited to enjoy birthday cake while supplies last.

The events of the day will be as follows:

  • 1:00 - Guests are able to make enrichment bags and hide in the elephant yard.
  • 1:30 - Guests will exit the elephant yard and Sophie will be released to find her birthday treats while guests enjoy a keeper chat and birthday cake.

The cost for this morning of fun is included in the regular Zoo admission prices and members are always free! Come out to play, make enrichment items, learn about our Asian elephants, and enjoy a birthday treat.  Love your Little Rock Zoo!
