The City of Little Rock has a vested interest in improving the quality of life and place for ALL Little Rock residents in all seven city wards. There are many sustainability and cleanup efforts being implemented across various city departments, including one of our newest initiatives, Project Impact.
Project Impact is a neighborhood clean-up that started in 2022 but paused after the March 31, 2023, tornado.
With homes being rebuilt and families settling back into some sense of normalcy post-tornado, Project Impact oiled its gears and relaunched this summer in the 12th Street Corridor! The City of Little Rock engaged with residents through music, food, fellowship and civility, where Mayor Scott and other officials spoke about the excitement surrounding the initiative, and the rollout plan for the remainder of 2024.
The mission and goal of Project Impact is to saturate underserved communities with city services to beautify neighborhoods, reduce crime, and provide residents with the resources the City of Little Rock has to offer beyond the day-to-day city support. Residents are optimistic about the efforts to make Little Rock a beautiful and comfortable place for residents of every socioeconomic status, to live, work, play and raise a family.
It’s important to remember that keeping our community clean and beautiful is a collective effort. The positive impact of coming together not only improves the physical environment but also strengthens our bonds as neighbors. By taking pride in our surroundings and working side by side, we contribute to a healthier, safer, and more vibrant place to live. Let’s keep this momentum going and continue to look for ways to care for our neighborhood, because a cleaner community benefits us all. If you and/or your organization would like to volunteer with the Project Impact initiative, you can sign up to do so HERE. When you sign up to be a volunteer, you will also be signing up to receive email updates for current and future correspondence regarding Project Impact. Together, we can make a lasting difference!
