LITTLE ROCK –  The City of Little Rock is opening its cooling center at the East Little Rock Community Center through Sunday for residents seeking a break from excessive temperatures.

In addition, other Little Rock community centers are open 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily, except Sunday, for anyone looking for a safe, comfortable, air-conditioned space.

The East Little Rock Community Center is open 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. through Saturday, and then noon to 6 p.m. on Sunday. That community center is located at 2500 E. Sixth St.

Locations available through Saturday are: :

• Dunbar Community Center, 1001 W. 16th St.
• Southwest Community Center, 6401 Baseline Road
• Stephens Community Center, 3720 W. 18th St.
• West Central Community Center, 8616 Colonel Glenn Road
