LITTLE ROCK – With dangerous road conditions continuing to impact Little Rock neighborhoods, scheduled trash and recycling collection in the City of Little Rock is cancelled Thursday in order to ensure the safety of workers and residents.

Because of the inclement weather, city offices will open with a delayed start time Thursday. All city offices will be open starting at noon.

When residential trash collection resumes, crews will pick up that day's normal routes rather than attempt to catch up on routes missed because of the holiday and winter weather. This will prevent any further delay in returning to the normal collection schedules. Residents who did not receive trash collection services this week will be permitted to place any additional garbage in bags at curbside to be collected on their next scheduled pickup day. The City apologies for any inconvenience, but since many residential streets remain covered in snow, safety is the priority.

Crews from the City's Public Works Department team have been working 24 hours a day since Sunday morning to treat roads across Little Rock, and they will continue to do so during this prolonged period of extreme weather.
